Maricopa has grown fast into a tight-knit community, and it has a few really nice outdoor spots for photos, plus wide-open desert just outside of town.
Copper Sky Regional Park is the go-to. It is Maricopa’s biggest park, with a lake, open lawns, and plenty of room, which is perfect for families and bigger groups. Pacana Park is a smaller, quieter option that is great for relaxed sessions. And if you want that classic Arizona look, the open desert just south of town gives you unobstructed mountain views and huge sunset skies.
The nice thing about Maricopa is that we can pick a spot that fits you, instead of squeezing every family into the same park because it’s what everyone else uses.
I photograph families, couples, seniors, and professionals in Maricopa and across the area, and I can match your session to the right place and the right light. Want to see who you’d be working with first? Here’s a little more about me.
One thing I hear all the time is, “We’re awkward in front of the camera.”
Perfect.
Most of the people I photograph feel exactly the same way.
Whether I’m photographing a CEO who has five minutes between conference sessions or a toddler who has decided today is absolutely not the day they’re going to cooperate, my job is the same: help everyone relax, keep things moving, and make the experience feel easy.
You don’t need to know how to pose. You don’t need to worry about where to put your hands.
I’ll guide you through the whole session while still leaving room for the moments that happen naturally. Those are usually the photos people end up loving the most.
I wanted to create something that felt completely risk-free.
So instead of asking you to pay hundreds of dollars before we’ve even met, I flipped the process around.
It’s a simple system, and after thousands of sessions, I know it works.
Headshots work a little differently because they require more planning and a consistent setup, especially for professionals, teams, and branding sessions.
The good news? This is what I do every week.
I’ve photographed thousands of professionals across the country at conferences, trade shows, and corporate events. Some days I’m photographing hundreds of people in a single day while keeping every image consistent, polished, and professional.
That experience carries over whether I’m photographing one executive, an entire office, or someone updating their LinkedIn headshot.
You’ll get guidance throughout the session, clean professional lighting, and a process that’s efficient without ever feeling rushed.
One of my favorite compliments is when someone says,
“That was way easier than I expected.” That’s exactly what I’m aiming for.
No confusing packages. No pressure to buy more than you want. No wondering what happens next.
Just a relaxed experience, a gallery delivered within a few days, and photos you’ll actually be excited to share.
Whether you’re looking for updated family photos, senior portraits, or professional headshots, I’d love to help.
If you’re not sure which Maricopa spot is the best fit, send me a message. I’m happy to recommend a location based on the style you’re looking for and the time of year.
And if you’re heading up toward the Valley, I also photograph in Chandler, Gilbert, and Phoenix.

Where: Pacana Park, on Porter Rd, Maricopa
Ideal for: Families, smaller groups, relaxed sessions
Why book here: A quieter neighborhood park with a fishing pond, green space, and a laid-back feel. A comfortable, easygoing spot for a relaxed family session.
Where: The open Sonoran Desert just south of town
Ideal for: Engagements, seniors, dramatic desert portraits
Why book here: Wide-open desert, unobstructed mountain views, and huge skies. One of the best places around to catch sunset light across open land.
Good to know: It is open desert, so we pick a safe, accessible pullout and time it around sunset.
For a normal family or portrait session in a Maricopa city park like Copper Sky or Pacana, usually not. Larger productions or reserved spaces can have their own rules. If we are planning something bigger, I will help you sort out what is needed.
Sunrise and the golden hour before sunset both work well. Copper Sky looks its best in the late afternoon, and the open desert south of town is stunning at sunset. In summer we usually shoot early to stay comfortable.
Families and bigger groups, Copper Sky Regional Park. A quieter, relaxed session, Pacana Park. Something dramatic, the open desert at sunset. Not sure? Send me a message and I will match the spot to your session.
Coordinated, not matchy. Soft, solid, mid-tone colors read beautifully against Maricopa’s parks and open desert. Earthy tones look especially good for desert sessions. Once we pick your location, I am happy to give more specific guidance.
